I am a rising junior in college taking a semester off due to COVID. I spent a summer as an overnight camp counselor working one-on-one with teens on the Autism spectrum doing everything from assisting with social situations to helping them get ready in the morning. As a camp counselor, I needed to be patient, calm, considerate, and empathetic in everything that I did. I can respond effectively when things do not go as planned. I loved working at camp and watching my campers thrive! I also have experience working with younger kids on the spectrum through a program at my university in which we led a group for kids to engage in activities, play group games, and develop relationships and social skills with us and with each other. Additionally, I have several years of experience working with neuro-typical kids and teens, including as a tutor for ESL students and as a day camp counselor. I love working with kids, and I am kind, patient, and responsible!
