Hi! I was a homeschooling mom for each of my four children (now ages 16-25) for a total of 14 years, teaching all subjects through 8th grade. I loved homeschooling, but when we felt it necessary to put our children in school, I became a licensed teacher in Texas and was a special education resource teacher in a public elementary school in Prosper for 4 years. I worked with students that had dyslexia and used the Orton-Gillingham approach. I have recently resigned from teaching public school and am looking for something with fewer hours, but I want to stay in education. I am a Christian, my husband is a pastor, and I am looking to help support our family financially. I absolutely love teaching and can't wait for a tutoring job or longer-term "homeschooling-type" job. I am very active in our local church and have taught Sunday School, ladies' Bible study, and VBS. I also have been a counselor at a Christian camp in Colorado for high schoolers for a few summers.
