Hello! My past experience as a caregiver was seeing a stroke patient progress with his PT and OT exercises. What motivates me most is coming alongside other people to help them reach their goals. I won't say that I understand, as every situation is different. My dad had Alzheimer's and my mom had a stroke. I have an idea of what adult children, other family, and friends go through when a loved one isn't able to do what they once did. Feel free to ask me questions about myself. Please let me know if something needs changed. I'm mindful that I'm going into someone else's home and am there to support and benefit them. My skills include companion care: conversation, outings, ideas. Providing reminders to take medication or other things the client must do, but in a way that treats them with dignity. Helping with daily activities: putting on makeup, dressing, brushing teeth; making basic things pleasant.
