About Amirah

Hi all! I'm so excited to be able to work with new families! I am a Maryland native recently moving back from Illinois and I have been an ABA therapist for 3+ years working with special needs children from 2-16 years old. I am extremely patient, loving, attentive and also have experience assisting with a preschool program which helps me to create age and developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans. During my time as an ABA therapist I have had experience with developing meal plans, creating, maintaining and following schedules. I also have experience dealing with special needs children, problem behaviors , and potty training. My time in this field has allowed me to provide my kiddos with support around motor skills, social skills, preattending skills and verbal/ functional communication skills. I enjoy creating a fun and constructive environment for the kids I work with using play to teach them valuable skills. My availability is very flexible and I am open during the week.
