About Amelia

I began caregiving at age 12 due to growing up in a household where my mother ran a daycare through our home. I began caring for a neighbor's daughter who had Down Syndrome and, therefore, required specialized care that I was in charge of providing while the family was not home. At 15, I began balancing that position with babysitting for other families before becoming a nanny at age 18. Since moving away for College, I greatly miss the children and families I worked with and am looking for ones in this area to continue the work I'm most passionate about. I firmly believe the role of a nanny goes far beyond basic survival; it's about cultivating growth, building a relationship, engaging with the emotional and physical needs of the child(ren), and communicating effectively in terms the child(ren) can understand at their level. I believe in talking with the child(ren) at their level of understanding to build trust that is essential in their development and safety.
