I've been volunteering at summer camps, in charge of 10-15 5-11-year-olds since I was 12 years old. Some of the camps were overnight and some were day camps giving me a well rounded sense of what childcare looks like at all times of the day. I can get a stubborn sleepyhead moving in the morning just as easily as I can deal with the afternoon energy. I think the most important part about childcare is establishing a bond of trust between you and your children. I will respect you all and treat your children as individual people with individual needs. I am particularly talented at preparing healthy meals your children will love and getting them to engage in stimulating and educational activities. My last roommate also had a 2-year-old daughter and a friend with a newborn so I've spent the last year changing diapers and playing peekaboo. I feel comfortable working with large groups of children but I'd prefer only one infant or baby at a time. I can't wait to meet you and your children!
