About Amanda

COVID-19 vaccinated

For the last 8 years I was a middle school special education teacher. I did not return to the school this year because of concerns involving CO-VID 19. I returned to the classroom this year but have decided to resign and resume tutoring instead. I am certified to teach all subjects pk-8th grade and certified to teach special education for all grade levels. I have a Master's in Special Education. I have experience tutoring students with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism as well as students that are considered gifted and talented. I have helped students gain the missing knowledge they need to be successful at their current grade or to advance beyond their peers. I also have experience working with students who have not yet began formal schooling, all the way from newborn up to pre-kindergarten. Currently I am working with students as young as 2nd grade all the way up through college level. I have experience with tutoring for standardized tests such as the ISEE and ACT.

Amanda is a super star! She has many years of teaching experience and it shows! She has helped my daughter immensely stay on level with reading and math, and she always has creative suggestions for reinforcing learning. She is hardworking and driven - as well as extremely dependable. We hired her to help our virtual learner not slide this year, but she has challenged her and encouraged her above the level we expected her to be. Amanda is perfect for anyone needing help but especially for virtual or home school kids concerned about exposure to the corona virus from visitors. She always wears a mask and respects any other requests by the family, and in her personal life, she limits her exposure to others by following CDC guidelines for her own safety as well as your family's safety.
