About Amalia

Hi there! My name is Amalia, I'm a Dominican-Luxembourgish DC native and Brown University alum living in BedStuy. I love taking care of and learning from children. I've nannied for kids as young as 4 months and as old as preteens; only children, twins, and as many as 3 siblings. I've also worked as a camp counselor at a Harry Potter camp, a part-time theater teacher to an elementary school class, an English teacher as a Fulbright scholar, and a community organizer working directly with immigrant mothers and their children. I have enjoyed every minute spent with a child, and after two years working in civil rights law and a year on a scholarship in Bogota, I am seeking a regular nannying position to reset and re-calibrate the most natural way I know how: care-taking. I can promise your children attentive, nurturing, playful guidance, and I can promise you reliable, respectful childcare. I can also promise help with homework, learning Spanish, crafts, healthy meals, and adventures.
