About Alyssa

Hello! My husband just matched for his pediatrics residency at Kaiser Oakland and we will be moving to Berkeley around June 1st from Sacramento. I have a BA in Drama as well as six early childhood credits from Penn Foster. I love reading, baking, drawing, weaving, being outdoors, playing ukulele, and lounging with my cat, Dinah, and dog, Roo. When I graduated college I taught at a preschool for several years then transitioned to a nanny position. My primary work has been with infants- 4-year-olds. My approach with children is learning through play and exploration. I love providing materials, setting up provocations, and observing what children discover with them. I've found a balance of structure and openness is key to my work. I am also a mother myself, to an almost 2-year-old and a 4-month-old and am planning to at least have the 4-month-old with me while working.
