About Alyssa

I was born and lived in Harrisburg, PA for most of my life. I have been fascinated by the workings of a child's mind. I earned my BA in Sociology at West Chester University. My post-college position was working with children/adolescence with behavioral and mental disorders. I learned and expanded my patience, empathy and behavioral management techniques that help maintain a calm, fun and safe environment. Now I am a full time mom with a son, 17, a daughter 13 and a rescue dog, 3. My children have given me the full experience of childcare. I have helped them navigate social situations, homework challenges and growing pains. I have taught them human values of kindness, communicating their feelings, patience, compassion, empathy, honesty, and serving our community. Why choose me? I am kind, patient and love speaking with children. I believe that children's thoughts and feelings need to be heard and validated. At the same time safety and house rules apply.
