About Alissa

Hi there! :)My name is Alissa, often referred to as. I have been teaching for about 4 years. I am originally from Utah and graduated with my degree in Elementary Education back in 2016. I taught 2nd Grade for 2 years in the Bronx, NY and Kindergarten for one year in South Phoenix to predominantly Spanish speaking students. Along with another year of experience working with grades K-6 as a substitute teacher. I have about 7 years of experience in tutoring with a major interest in Reading fluency and comprehension. I am currently a grad student at ASU studying Special Education and have been working with students with special needs for over 4 years now. I will be graduating with my masters degree this coming December. it is intellectually, socially, or emotionally. The passion I have for children pushes me to explore new ways to be a part of their journey in learning as well as preparing them for their future.
