I was a live-in care provider for a 102-year-old while getting my Masters of Social Work. I would love a similar type of role, as I got to learn from Mrs. * all about her immigration from Russia, her past relationships, things to avoid in her experience, and of course, how proud she was of her daughters and grandchildren. We enjoyed tea-time every night at exactly 10 p.m. (and not a minute before or after, as I learned on my very first night!) she also taught me not to take life too seriously & that it is okay to have the bowl of icecream. I helped her with: laundry, light house cleaning, errands/ grocery shopping, getting dressed for the day (CNA did showers, not me), and meal prep/ cooking, as well as had a sound monitor for overnights to ensure safe bathroom trips.
