I have been working with the geriatric population for about 3 years now for a senior home-care company. I have always had a passion for helping others, and found a real passion in helping adults become as independent as possible again. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences from LIU Post and I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy with a specialization in Geriatrics at Stony Brook University. I love putting a smile on other peoples faces and want to be as helpful as I can for people who need it! I have experience in patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, mobility issues, difficulty w/ ADL's, etc.

My dad and I needed companion care for my mom with early onset Alzheimer's and we found Alex. My mom is extremely active and from the very first day we met, Alex was not bothered by that. They spent their days walking our neighborhood together, saying hi to neighbors and exploring. Other aides we tried were unwilling to keep up with my mom and tried to have her simply sit with them but once Alex got to know what my mom liked they were off. Alex always arrived with a smile on her face, took the time to catch up with my dad and even gave our dog some extra ear scratches. She was a welcomed set of eyes on my mom that allowed my dad and I to get some much needed time to do things without worrying about my mom.
