About Alana

I'd describe my personality as quirky, inquisitive, and passionate. I like working with kids because they're growing and changing and learning so much; its so exciting to witness that. I'm looking for a job that is fun and fulfilling. I've been working with kids since age 12. In my spare time, I like to read and write poetry. I love to do a variety of arts and crafts like woodblock printing, ceramics, weaving, making earrings, and more! I also love to bring these to kids I work with. I am queer, neurodivergent, and jewish and I would love to work with a family that shares some or all of these communities with me. My skills include gentle parenting skills such as developing emotional regulation abilities, setting boundaries, and understanding the broad concept consent that impacts every part of our lives. I love watching kids grow as people and it is so exciting to get to be a part of that. I was also a red cross certified lifeguard for years and taught swim lessons for many years.
