During my undergraduate degree at Auburn University, I spent a lot of time volunteering with BraveHearts, a program dedicated to working with young adults living with moderate to severe disabilities. My duties ranged from planning art lessons to connecting and collaborating with parents and other organizations in the area. Additionally, I have experience conducting scholarly activities such as reading, writing, and group discussions with young adults in a school-like setting. It's important that I admit to having no paid experience, as all of my involvement was done via volunteering (2+ years). I'm currently working on getting my Master's in Social Work at UGA and am looking to benefit from this opportunity in a few ways. While money is a driving factor, I also seek to gain better cognizance about the complexities of each individual within this population. I know how individualized everyone's needs are, and want to offer proper support.
