Part Time
About who needs care: Mom has Alzheimer's and then had a stroke last week. She is recovering well from stroke but sleeps a lot, is barely eating, and needs help getting out of bed and using walker to toilet. She will sip water. She is now in hospice at my home. She is very pleasant. Loves animals, used to direct a bell choir, very artistic. Her home in NJ had major water damage so I need to go there periodically (there and back same day) to meet with contractors, etc. I have a baby monitor installed to make it easier to hear her from another room. Also have 2 dogs that need to be let out into fenced yard periodically.
About the care needs: Mom enjoys someone happy who likes to talk - even about their own life, and likes animals. No real specialized skills needed other than experience knowing how to care for bed bound person, knowing how to use hospital bed, and knowing how to help her in and out of bed. I basically need someone to provide me with respite care at least once a week so I can address getting her house repaired and sold, and give me time to exercise (walk) and/or run errands. Care can be half-days most times, but I will need occasional full daytime care, when I have to go to her NJ house.
Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
