This position is to serve as a classroom aide for a mildly autistic toddler this coming fall semester. The position would involve providing additional support and engagement for a 3-year-old girl in a preschool classroom in Kensington, Maryland. The ideal candidate would have some experience, coursework, or a strong interest in working with children on the autism spectrum. Duties would include one-on-one interaction, facilitating social skills and language development, providing positive behavioral support, and assisting the lead teacher as needed during classroom activities. This would be a paid position for approximately 20-30 hours per week, with the potential for the role to continue into future semesters.
