About who needs care: Memory Loss/ Confusion Slow Walker Sometimes Incontinent Isolated (we are concerned whether she feeds herself enough) She has always enjoyed doing crafts. She is able to get herself up and dressed, showers and does household chores (Cleaning, Laundry). She does not really "cook" anymore (although she thinks she does). Meals consist of heating something in microwave, making a sandwich, cookies & snacks. My sister does online shopping for her groceries that are delivered to her. Nearest family (my sister and I) are in South Carolina 6+ hours away. She does have some women friends locally who will take her to get hair done and dr's appts, but we feel we impose on them. Her spouse (our father) passed away two years ago. We have asked her to move to assisted living in SC, but she refuses to leave her home. We just want someone to look in on her on a regular basis. About the care needs: Gregarious, woman, able to gain her trust. She has had some paranoia episodes so she is leery of strangers. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
