The position involves providing companion care for my husband (age 66) with young onset dementia at a memory care facility (this is very different from caring for someone in their late 70s, 80s, 90s). He is physically fine but executive functioning is gone and while nonverbal he can track well visually. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, empathy, responsible, reliable, fun/energetic and sense of humor. Responsibilities include engagement, activities, emotional support, monitoring needs, observing physical condition.
