This is 24-hour weekend shift to relieve our live-in caregiver. It goes from noon Sat to noon Sunday. Pay is $400/shift. Mom is 80 and has mild/moderate vascular dementia and peripheral neuropathy and walks with a walker. We need a companion and caregiver who provides meals and assistance as needed with dressing and toileting. We also need someone who can help keep her physically and mentally active, and encourage her to get out of the house. Mom does best with someone who is confident and warm, can help her keep a sense of control and who knows how to not take things personally. She is in the stage of her dementia, where she is really frustrated with losing her functioning, and occasionally has intense emotions, either deep sadness or anger that can be directed at those around her. She can be very difficult at times.
