Here at Care.com we’re continuously seeking to improve our services with new and innovative tools to make matching easier and better for both carers and those looking for care. That’s why we’ve launched our new pet care service.
When looking for pet care you can now share your needs and receive up to 5 applications at a time from pet caregivers for free. If you are a member looking for a caregiver outside of pet care, including childcare, tutoring, special needs, senior care, or housekeeping, a premium membership is still required to connect with carers.
For pet caregivers, unlike other websites for pet care, Care.com will not charge a commission or subscription for using its new service. Instead, pet caregivers are charged credits per job application. To get you started, we’re giving all pet caregivers free credits. Further credits can be purchased through the job application process and you can top up your account whenever you run out. If you are a caregiver outside of pet care you will continue to NOT need credits to apply to jobs.
By introducing credits and limiting the number of applicants per job with our new pet care service there should be higher satisfaction on both sides. Pet owners benefit from fewer and better quality applications for their jobs. For pet caregivers, the formula is simple: better matches + limited number applications per job = higher job chances. We believe that time saved from better job matches and fewer job applications means our new pet care service offers real value for money.
If you signed up to Care.com looking for or offering pet care, you will have access to our new service by default – simply log into my account. If you’ve signed up to Care.com looking for or offering childcare, senior care, tutoring or housekeeping services, you will first have to change your primary care service to pet care within the account info & settings page.
