I know what it's like first hand raising a child with special needs. My oldest 16 years old was diagnosed with Aspergers in first grade. He is now 16 in high school and getting A's. He is social and high functioning. He had sensory disorder, as well as ADHD. I understand every level of the spectrum because I lived through its challenges daily. You need the gift of patience which I have an understanding of. I am not a pro and don't claim to be, I just love kids and am still raising my own. They are older and I need income during the day while they are at school.
