I did a lot of work on the brain injury floor with catering and meal preparation when I worked at a hospital as a dietary aide, but the real experience came from working at living resources as a direct support professional for people with developmental disabilities. There I assisted them with meals, errands, bathing, wheelchairs, and more. I loved working at living resources because seeing the look on those people's faces when I've helped them get through their day. Both my grandparents passed away from severe illnesses and I also helped them inside their home before they passed.
