I am currently studying Special Education at Appalachian State University. I am only taking one course this semester and I am student teaching in the fall. I am very passionate about working with children with disabilities. Nothing brings me more joy than teaching and learning from these children. I am beyond excited about teaching and I have already learned so much from children I have worked with in my internships through my program. I have worked in a self-contained elementary school Autism classroom as well as a self-contained high school classroom. I have worked with children with Autism, Down syndrome, and children who are intellectually disabled. I have volunteered at Special Olympics and I am an active member of the student council for exceptional children for Appalachian State University. I have learned that working with these children have been so rewarding and I would not want to do anything else.
