Hello, my name is Valerie and I am a former Special Education teacher for about 10 years (6 years in classrooms, 4 years online). I am a compassionate, genuine adult who naturally bonds with children and animals. I have taught and assisted students with physical as well as intellectual needs. I understand that communication is shared through ways other than verbally. Care has included, but is not limited to: instruction, feeding (including feeding tube), changing/bathroom, communication (including communication devices), choice making, overall comfort and happiness. I am trustworthy and honest and understand it takes trust for someone to take care of a loved one, especially one that has special needs. I used to work in a school with cameras in all classrooms. I would be happy to be in sight at all times to ensure safety and integrity.
