Hi there! My name is Sophie and I am a teacher and actor based in Chicago! I am a special education paraprofessional and have been teaching in a special education classroom full time for the last three years. While our main focus in the classroom is helping to support our students with cognitive delays and ASD succeed in a gen ed school, I am passionate about special education that looks at the whole child In terms of how to support them emotionally, physically and academically. I am and experienced speech device user and love to assist in our OT, PT, adaptive PE, music therapy and social work groups. have taught at various arts camps for the past nine years. I am a teaching artist who loves improvisation, imaginative play and creativity. As an employee of MY GYM CHILDREN FITNESS I worked with kids and families on gymnastics and exercise. I play the flute and guitar and love spending time getting to know kids of all ages!
