I have worked with kids ranging from ages youth to 19 with special needs. I have worked in summer camps or after school programs with kids that have ADD, ADHD or Autism. I cared for two children for several years who both are on the spectrum. I have worked out with them, helped them get jobs, tutored in all subjects or even taken them on small trips such as the park or movie. I'm passionate about working with kids with special needs because I am on older sister to someone who is on the spectrum. it is different working with a child and actually having someone with special needs forever in your life. I like to say that there's no "light switch" that you are able to turn on and off when you are around someone with special needs because its their life too!
