At 9 years old I became an aunt and started learning to care for babies and young children. As a young teenager (11-14) I babysat for a family that had a set of young twins and a daughter with Down syndrome, as well as the family's sister who lived with them that also had Down syndrome. I've babysat for family on multiple occasions and had as many as 6 children in my care. I also became a lifeguard and swim instructor for young children. When I started college I worked as a night nanny for a single parent who worked as a night nurse and had 2 children I would feed dinner, put to bed, and would bring to school the next morning. At 20 I became an emt and became CPR certified and took infant/child safety courses. Now at 23 I'm a mother and looking to help other families where and when I can.
