I am 28 years old and I have spent my entire life with people who have special needs. I have an older sister (30's) who is 100% dependent and non-verbal. She also has a seizure disorder. She needs to be fed, bathed, clothed and toileted. She also needs assistance walking but she mostly uses a wheelchair when out of the house. I also have a younger brother (mid 20's) with developmental delays. He is mostly independent but has verbal/hearing problems. I have been a respite provider for both of them for years. I also worked as a caregiver in adult family homes. I worked with adults ranging from 21-70's. I toileted, bathed, fed the clients that needed it as well as take care of errands, appointments, social outings and every day household tasks. I am also fully capable with transfers. There was a wide range of disabilities and behaviors that I worked with.
