I am a former athlete who missed something to be passionate about until I found it fiveyears ago when I started working as a paraprofessional at elementary and high schools with kids all over the autism spectrum and again a few months ago working with the elderly who have mental disorders such as depression, Alzheimer's, and dementia. I am continuing to go to school while trying to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life. The kids and elders that I work with teach me so much about life that I get to implement on a day to day basis. I know how hard specific things are for specific people and everyone is there own person, one of the most challenging things about that statement is that only you know how you are feeling until you communicate it with somebody. I am somebody who can provide a positive, comfortable, and safe feeling atmosphere not only for the kids/elders but for the rest of the family as well. I come from a big family as well so I understand how important it is.
