I have been working as an instructional assistant in a middle school special education classroom for two years now. I am in a class with moderate emotional disabilities and other learning/physical disabilities that cause issues to their development and learning speeds. I have also worked with students on various levels of the Autism spectrum. I also have some basic knowledge of the health/physical side of the care needed through the time I spent in nursing school. I decided nursing wasn't my calling, that I would be a better fit in a school setting. But I did complete about 90% of the program so I have a pretty good foundation of knowledge. I am also a very quick learner so what I don't know I can pick up easily.
