Hi! My name is Melissa, and I am a social worker, writer and nature enthusiast. I have a background in positive youth development with a variety of experience supporting kids--as a nanny, remote school "pod teacher," Social-Emotional Learning Specialist for a school district in Colorado, a social work intern for both Girl Scouts of Colorado and an LGBTQ+ youth organization as well as an outdoor adventure camp counselor. I have been Red Cross trained and certified as a lifeguard in high school. I am playful, responsible, patient, kind and fun. I value building relationships in order to best support kids/families, and building upon children's strengths to help them grow in confidence, curiosity, and joy. I also enjoy taking care of family pets and helping with cleaning/meal prep. I hope to work for people who share my values of compassion for self/others/nature, open communication, and equity and social justice.
