Hi, my name is Melanie. I grew up around special needs. I was a nanny for at the age of 18, for three years. I got married to a military guy and begin to travel. We were stationed in England for three years and I worked at the hospital. Then got stationed in North Carolina where I took care of a baby at six months and took care of her for 3 1/2 years until we moved to Massachusetts. In Ma I was a cashier for 13 years. I moved to Texas the summer of 2017. I worked for 4 years. I was a special needs bus monitor for special needs kids last year. I privately took care for a 29-year-old nonverbal/autistic special needs. My mom has dementia and her memory is starting to go. It's very hard for me because she lives in Michigan. I go and see her as often as I can. She doesn't like to talk on the phone so it gets hard. I have a neighbor in memory care and I go visit her and volunteer there. I have a lot of fun. I would love to find someone I could hang out and talk and do the same thing.
