I am a speech language pathologist at Bluford Elementary school. I have a M. A. in speech language pathology from UNCG and a B. A. in Linguistics and Communication from UNC Chapel Hill. I am seeking part-time work as a tutor/virtual learning guide a couple afternoons a week. I have 3 years experience as a habilitation technician for children and teens with a variety of needs. I have experience working with individuals with autism, down-syndrome, and various developmental disabilities, as well as with typically developing children. My degrees have provided me experience in guided reading and language tutoring, and gives me the teaching skills to break down information in such a way to guide children through grade school subjects easily. I have also undergone ABA training, and am CPR certified. Please see my childcare and special needs profiles for references to my responsibility and reliability.

Mckenzie has worked with our 14-year old non-verbal autistic daughter for the past year. She has done a great job following through with the treatment plan we have in place for our daughter. We are able to rely on Mckenzie for consistency. Mckenzie is reliable, dependable and always on time. She performs well in high stress situations when my daughter is having a bad day. She is incredibly calm and patient under such circumstances. Our daughter enjoys her time with her and they love to go on outings in the community together. We are very comfortable when our daughter is in her care. I highly recommend you consider her to care for your child.
