I have cared for a girl with Rett syndrome. She was non verbal and needed help with basic daily living tasks such as walking, using the bathroom, eating and bathing. My responsibilities included preparing meals and feeding her, getting her upstairs, bathing her and putting her to bed. I also have experience managing her seizures. My most recent job I cared for a boy with autism, adhd and cerebral palsy. My duties included homework help, some meal prep, mealtime supervision, medication management, bath time, bed time and playing with him. Various activities included playing outside, arts and crafts, playing video games, and reading. I also worked closely with his ABA therapist and learned skills to apply to manage unwanted behavior. I was laid off when his hours were cut by the insurance company.
