I graduated in 1994, with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. At the time, I was a searching for a job that would provide for a young child and myself. Teaching positions simply did not cover my expenses, so I began to search for other opportunities. I was fortunate that a couple gave me a chance to develop my skills as a personal assistant/household manager in their homes. Although I never used my teaching degree in a formal school setting, every household position I have worked at included an aspect of childcare. Having the educational background gave my employers trust and confidence in me in caring for their children/grandchildren. I am quick to fill idle time with opportunities to serve (including laundry, basic cleaning (things that help make the lives of families I work for easier). Looking for considerate families who appreciate someone who is reliable, honest and hard working and realize that my time is as valuable as theirs.
