I have been babysitting/nannying for almost 8 years for kids of all ages. I have 7 years of experience working with kids with special needs, both inside and outside of the classroom. I enjoy working with all kids no matter the differences. I'd describe my personality as generous, loving, and patient. I like caring for people with special needs because I don't see them for what they "can't" do, I see them for the ways they adapt and overcome their challenges. I started interacting with peers with special needs in 5th grade. Since then, I have always made effort to make personal connections with my peers with special needs. I am a teacher aide at my high school for all three of the life skills classes, including an 18-21 program. One thing you should know about me is I am able to find ways to communicate with kids who may not verbally communicate. I am familiar with basic sign language and the use of AAC devices. My skills include patience, responsibility, and helpfulness.
