I have worked at advocacy and resource centers for individuals with disabilities (specifically with youth programs). I have experience working in comprehensive care clinic settings, in school settings and, working with individuals with disabilities in a therapeutic horse back riding setting. My area of interest is working with individuals with disabilities and their families to help assist them in obtaining a happy, healthy, satisfying life. My long-term goal is to do life coaching with individuals with disabilities and their families. I have a lifetime of both personal and professional experience working with those with disabilities and their families. I was born with Spina Bifida and have overcome many obstacles throughout my life. I am currently living an independent life! My passion is being a positive role model for people with disabilities and encouraging them to reach their dreams!

I have known Lauren for over a decade, and first met her when she was instrumental in starting an Independent Living's support group for teens with disabilities. She was compassionate and supportive of her peers with disabilities, and great at outreach, even as a teenager. At the time, I was the staff youth worker, and she worked with me in a volunteer capacity. After I left the organization, we remained in touch, and when I returned 10 years later, she also returned as a volunteer mentor for our new youth support group. She assisted within the past year in a college campus visit for our group; she acted as hostess, and invited us out to attend a presentation she was giving. Over the years, Lauren has remained committed to the independent living movement, and is an outgoing, down-to-earth individual who gets things accomplished. She would be an asset to anyone's team!
