I myself am a Type 1 Diabetic, I was diagnosed at age 9 and have never let it get in the way of my dreams. Being diagnosed as a Type 1 has driven me to dedicate myself to nursing school. I am extremely comfortable with aiding others who encounter the same challenges with Type 1 Diabetes that I do. I am in the process of getting my certificate to become a certified home health aide, I completed the requirements while at school this semester. I am very skilled in basic home care needs, such as bathing, utilizing the bathroom, light housekeeping, as well as meal prep, and medication suggestion. Along with this I have babysat for my neighbors who have autistic sons on multiple occasions. I am also CPR/first aide trained since I have been a lifeguard the past four years. I also know how to use an EpiPen in case of an allergic reaction.
