I am a recent grad from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. I have experience providing care to children and adults with down syndrome, autism and Federicks Ataxia. I was a personal care assistant in Hamden, CT for a 25-year-old female who had Federicks Ataxia for the duration of my junior year of college before beginning an internship at a local hospital. Throughout my time in the hospital as a student nurse, I have had experience in a hospital for special care unit that had children who specifically had trachea's and cerebral palsy. Connecting with these children with CP was the highlight of my week. I also have one semester experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit that specialized in teenagers. Diagnoses ranged from: autism, ADD, ADHD, depression and bipolar disorder. I greatly enjoyed my time in the rotations that gave me a chance to interact with children and adolescents. I am a quick learner and will stick to any schedule given to me to better support the individual child.
