I'm a special education teacher in a south Jersey school district. I have been teaching for 17 years and absolutely love it. I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. Currently (and for the past 15 years), I teach the Life Skills class to students age 10-14. The students in this class are usually classified MD (multiply disabled) and are placed there to become as functionally independent as possible. I have experience with a variety of different classifications and disabilities including: Mild cognitive impairment, Down syndrome, PDD, Emotionally Disturbed, Visually Impaired, ADHD, and seizure disorders. I am also a member of the school code team, so I am a certified Health Care Provider (CPR and AED).
