While I have no professional experience with people who have challenges and or special needs; I've been volunteering with the special Olympics since I was 13 years old. In addition to that I also am married to a man with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. I also have two nephews, one cousin, several friends and one God child who are all at different levels of functioning with ASD. My daughter has ADHD as well as a panic and anxiety disorder. My sister was first diagnosed with epilepsy at age 13. Dealing with the sensitive issues around people who have neurological abnormalities is something that I have grown up understanding and having his part of my intimate life not just as a job.
