I was diagnosed with autism at age 10. I used to not talk in school and would not understand social cues. Now I'm a young woman in college and am an honors student. Being neurodivergent is a strength that few people recognize. I can act as a mentor for younger neurodivergents and members of the spectrum operating based on my personal experience as a tutor, having siblings with differing levels of autism traits, and through my own personal lens. It's perfectly okay to be different and it's possible to succeed not in spite of a disability- but because of it.
