I worked at Texas Lions Camp for 3 summers in college. I worked with kids with physical disabilities, Down Syndrome, and Type 1 Diabetes. Originally I wanted to be a pediatric physical therapist, but have since changed career paths. However, I understand the patience and attention need to care for a child with special needs. During my time at TLC I gained hands own experience with feeding, toilet assists, bed transfers, and of course interactive and adaptable activities for the kids. Working at TLC was an amazing way to spend my summers and I feel so fortunate to have worked with those kiddos. I am not currently CPR/first aid certified, but willing to take the course. I know ASL alphabet and few signs, but am willing to learn as needed.
