For almost four years now, I have been heavily involved with the organization serving children, teens, and young adults with special needs. I could have never predicted the monumental effect this organization would have on the course of my life. A brief on my first day: As I walked up on the fifteenth of April last year, several teenagers greeted me. These kids, who all were dealing with the challenges of autism, Down s syndrome, or Asperger s, approached me confidently wearing genuine smiles. As they grabbed my hands to include me in their games, I realized that these children, who were far from attractive by societal standards, were the most beautiful people I had ever seen. Their pure joy, so effortless and authentic, is the closest thing I have seen on this earth that resembles the beauty of God. They inspire me, and I hope to supply love and happiness to them.
