I have 2 years of in facility caregiving experience for intellectually disabled individuals. I worked at a facility with over 100 individuals. I cared for 26 in the facility working with them on learning what they were interested in. I taught classes for them on the basics like math, spelling/reading, current and historical events, and also anything they took a personal interest in. We did arts and craft projects like painting, drawing, making jewelry or birdhouses. I also volunteered at the special olympics to take a few of my people that wanted to participate. I really enjoy working with and learning from the intellectually disabled community.
