Hi , I have taken care of a special needs 21- year-old for over three years and have been a round his friends as well. He use to be my backyard neighbor and then when they moved around the corner they needed help and that's how we connected. I could not tell you exactly his condition as the doctors were not able to give him a diagnosis. A typical day of caring for him may be circumventing a temper tantrum or calming down from excitement. He was very loving and sweet and sometime had to be sure he kept his boundaries in socializing. He was able to use the facilities, feed him self and communicate with some words and sign language too. I am willing to learn from you if your loved one has other special needs than what I have shared. Hoping to fill in the time needed for respite and offer flexible hours too.
