I have been a CNA for 5 years and within that time frame I've worked with multitudes of different disabilities ranging from stroke patients, cerebral palsy, blindness, autism, etc. I also worked in a special needs school/ABA therapy program to see how the therapy side of things worked versus the physical care side. I love to do both. I am very passionate in caretaking because I always like to think, if I was in their position, I'd want someone to come in and take care of me without judgement and being compassionate and kind. I also grew up with younger siblings, one having autism and the other having ADHD/ADD. I helped make sure they got their medications, as well as helping them with social interactions like making friends and understanding communication between people.
