My name is Anna, and I began working summers with kids without special needs aged five to 13, and adults and teenagers with special needs, seven years ago. I also have four years of classroom experience with first, second and third graders, all of whom have primary diagnoses of moderate or severe cases of autism. I am not fluent in ASL, but know many basic signs and am always willing to learn new things! My favorite parts of my job are learning what makes each person in my care laugh, helping people with special needs connect more effectively with parents and other family members, and finding the fun in everything we do. In May I will finish my MA in English, and I plan to move to Columbia, Missouri by mid-August. I sincerely look forward to finding a family that will share my enthusiasm for and love of the special needs community.

Anna has worked in my classroom as an instructional aide with students with severe autism and developmental disabilities for the past 2 years. She does an amazing job in caring for my students. She excels at anticipating their needs and making sure their needs are met. She has done a wonderful job helping my students become more independent. Anna would be great in any caregiving situation, as she is giving, thoughtful, and diligent. Anna has a wonderful demeanor and personality, and quickly develops a rapport with children and adults. You would be lucky to have Anna working with you. She has been an asset to my classroom and will be missed.
