For a few years, I worked for a children's developmental center where I assisted children with special needs and developmental delays. In this experience, I learned that every person has something special to offer and you must be open-minded and aware of their thoughts and feelings to successfully accommodate their needs. I have also volunteered with a club that works closely with Montana Special Olympics and have family friends with Down's Syndrome, dementia, and other diagnoses. As an aspiring medical professional, I believe that compassion and attentiveness are essential for keeping others happy and healthy.
